The knife Tair was developed by the Melita-K company in 2022, immediately after the start of the war conflict in Ukraine. Due to the shortness of time, the Tair knife has an identical handle to the Sapsan knife (Melita-K), only the blade received the infantry design.

From the very beginning, the Tair knife was developed as a knife for the mobilized. Partial mobilization in the Russian Federation was announced in September 2022.
